You are in charge, take back control.

“Its not my fault.” “Life’s not fair.” “Why me?”

Sometimes things happen and through no fault of our own, stuff goes wrong. Is it someone else’s fault that we feel the way we do, what we have or don’t have, or what we are or aren’t? We need to start taking back ownership for our own thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Only we can control how we feel, and only we can decide whether we are happy or not. We are humans, we wear our hearts and emotions on out proverbial sleeves, but we can control how we look at the world and how other people treat us and how we react to that. At that moment, we regain power.

You go from being weak, a victim of others’ words and actions and you become the master of your own life. Someone comments on your hair, outfit, outward appearance, brush it off and move forward.

What are some things that you are most proud of? What have you achieved? Have you really celebrated that accomplishment? You did it, you deserve the recognition and praise. If there are no cheerleaders around you at that current moment, congratulate yourself. Find a way to take a second and reflect on it and use it as a foundation on which to build your happiness.

It is a matter of self-esteem. Gone are the days of gold stickers on our paper or “good job” stickers next to our homework. You have worth, you have value. You deserve all of the good things that you have in life. You worked hard, reward yourself, in moderation of course.

No one has the right to make you feel any emotion that you don’t want. You have the right and deserve to be happy, and no one has the authority to take that away or make you feel unhappy.

Someone has an opinion about you or what you do or how you do it? Well, opinions are like rear ends, everybody’s got one and they all stink.
